Indonesian Spectrum is a 1 year program for foreign students that offers several subjects about Indonesia. Through the subjects, foreign students can learn to know and understand various aspects about Indonesia such as politics, economics, social and culture. The foreign students will also have the experience living in a multicultural and multi-ethnic Indonesian society alongside the domestic students and the other international students.
1st Semester (Fall) : (starts from) September 2019
2nd Semester (Spring) : (starts from) February 2020
Indonesian Spectrum Program is open for foreign students with the following requirements:
The required papers:
* A one-month multidisciplinary program where students can have a learning experience by living in the Indonesian villages.
** Cultural Activities: A program where students are trained to learn Indonesian culture by first-hand experience.
Monthly Living Expenses
Approximate total for accommodation (simple boarding house) and meal: US$ 300/month.
The actual accommodation fee around Petra Christian University ranges from US$ 80 to US$ 200 per monthdepends on the room type and its facilities. Boarding house with personal bathroom (inside the bedroom) will be more expensive than the public one (outside the bedroom). The price is also different between rooms with and without air conditioner (AC) or water heater. Free internet connection (LAN cable or WiFi) is only available in several selections of boarding house, some will charge you extra to have an internet connection, but it is always available if you choose to stay in an apartment.
Simply said, the more facilities you desire, the higher the price is gonna be.
Please note that students are highly recommended to stay in a boarding house and apartment located in Siwalankerto which is within walking distance to Petra Christian University (around 1-5 minutes walk). By staying close to the campus ground, BAKP will be easier to reach you in time of needs. In addition, living in Siwalankerto gives both BAKP and the students better access to process all legal documents the students needed, such as the Limited Stay Permit (KITAS) and Surat Tanda Melapor (STM).
